Take advantage of the FREE services the City of Miramar provides for seniors aged 60 and up.

Including free daily local trips to shopping, entertainment, restaurants and regional attractions. Recreational activities like cards, bingo, dominoes, jewelry making, painting classes and sing-a-longs. Health and wellness classes such as yoga, Jazzercise, dancing, walking and health education-based groups. Frequent Farm Share food giveaways. Door-to-door transportation to senior centers, pharmacy and medical appointments, and so much more!

Southcentral/Southeast Focal Point

NCAA The City of Miramar is the home of the Southcentral/Southeast Focal Point (SCSEFP). We operate 2 senior centers with services and activities designed specifically for persons 60 years old and older.

The Southcentral/Southeast Focal Point locations offer a wide array of services:

  • Recreation
  • Daily hot lunch provided by Meals on Wheels South Florida
  • Counseling and Support Groups
  • Information and Referral Services
  • Health and Wellness Activities
  • Transportation

The SCSEFP Senior Centers well established as a professionally managed program providing relevant and vital resources for older adults. SCSEFP is accredited by the National Institute of Senior Centers, which serves as official recognition that this senior center is meeting its mission utilizing a nationally accepted and professional approach.

Does one have to be a resident of the City in order to be a member?

No, you do not need to be a resident of the City to become a member, however some restrictions may apply. Please check with our Social Services representative for more details at 954-889-2719.

Why do you need my Social Security Number?

The Southcentral/Southeast Focal Point is collecting your Social Security number as part of its responsibility to conduct assessments. We do this to determine benefits or services you may be eligible for. Your Social Security Number is confidential under law and will be kept confidential.

Are there Transportation boundaries?

Yes, our perimeters are set from I-95 to Highway 27 and from Sheridan Street to County line Road.
