Recycling Curbside Collection Notifications

Blue Recycle Cart Rules - Avoid Interruption by following these tips:

  • DO NOT use or place recyclables in plastic bags.
  • Newspapers, junk mail, and flyers should be placed in a paper bag or tied to prevent windblown litter.
  • Place recyclable cart within 3 feet of the street by 7 a.m. on your scheduled pick-up day.
  • Arrows on the lid should always face the street.
  • Following collections, return cart to your home by end of the day.
  • All acceptable program recyclable items can be placed together in the Blue recycle cart.
  • Cardboard should be broken down or folded to maximize available space.
  • Do not overpack/pushdown on your cart so tightly it cannot be emptied.
  • Items placed next to the cart or in a non-city issued containers will not be collected.
  • Lid should not extend more than a few inches above the recycle carts rim to avoid spillage during collections.
  • Do not put any items in the Blue Recycle cart that are not part of the recycling program, this contaminates the materials, and will not be collected.
  • DO NOT place materials on top of the Blue recycle cart, they will not be collected.
  • Periodically wash out your cart with water and small amount of anti-bacterial dish detergent to reduce odors and maintain sanitary conditions.
