Citizens On Patrol

The Citizens On Patrol program is made up of volunteers who, after background checks have been completed, are trained to patrol their communities, acting as the “Eyes and Ears” for the police department. Citizens On Patrol volunteers conduct regularly scheduled patrols within their communities to look out for suspicious activities.

By patrolling their community, on a regular basis, usually in 4 hour shifts, Citizens On Patrol volunteers become more familiar with their community and are better able to recognize “suspicious” activity and notify the authorities. The Citizens On Patrol program has proven to be an excellent complement to the Miramar Police Department.

Who May Apply

The Citizens on Patrol Program is made up of residents of Miramar, 18 years of age or older, who wish to volunteer their time patrolling the city, becoming the eyes and ears of the neighborhoods and the Miramar Police Department.

Interested citizens must complete an application and allow a Background Investigation to check for criminal history. You may fill out the application online by visiting the Miramar jobs website.
