To the City of Miramar Community Members,
As your Fire Chief, it is both an honor and a privilege to serve you, and this amazing city. Every day, our dedicated personnel work tirelessly to ensure your safety, protect your property, and respond to emergencies with professionalism, compassion, and courage.
The trust you place in us is something we never take for granted. Whether responding to a structure fire, providing medical aid, assisting during natural disasters, or participating in community events, our commitment to excellence remains unwavering.
I want to personally thank each of you for your support and the faith that you have bestowed on me to lead this incredible team. We are proud to be part of a community that looks out for one another and values public safety.

About the Chief:
On March 21st, 2025, Chief McFarlane began serving as the 11th Fire Rescue Chief for the City of Miramar.
Chief McFarlane has spent 26 years with the City of Miramar Fire Rescue Department and has proudly held each position, rising through the ranks from Firefighter to Driver Engineer, Lieutenant, Captain, Battalion Chief and most recently Deputy Fire Chief.
Having spent his entire career with the Department he brings all his years of dedicated service, leadership, and experience to the City of Miramar and its residents in his role of Fire Chief. His deep understanding of the challenges and responsibilities at every level of the fire service and the City of Miramar in particular, bring a much-needed perspective to the role of Fire Chief.
Chief McFarlane has been awarded for many of his efforts throughout his career but prefers to highlight his deep value for hard work, humility, and respect.
