Fire Prevention & Arson Investigation

The Fire Prevention Bureau's mission is to provide a comprehensive fire prevention program that protects the lives and property of the citizens of Miramar.

Adopted Code Support

The Fire Prevention Bureau was established to assist the Fire Chief in administering and enforcing the fire protection provisions of the following adopted codes:

• Broward County Amendments to the Florida Fire Prevention Code
• Chapter 9 of the Code of the City of Miramar Florida
• Florida Fire Prevention Code 2010 Edition
• State of Florida Uniform Fire Safety Rules and Standards

Personnel Qualifications

Personnel assigned to the Fire Prevention Bureau as fire safety inspectors must be state certified firefighters, state certified fire inspectors and must be certified by the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeal.
