Green Buildings in Miramar

The City would like to commend Liberty Property Trust and Lexus Corporate, for their initiative to bring green development to the city of Miramar.

Liberty Center

Liberty Property Trust:

  • Owns and manages nearly 2 million square feet of office and industrial properties in South Florida, with nearly 600,000 square feet of office product in Miramar.
  • Broke ground on a 17.5-acre office park, Liberty Center at Monarch Lakes
  • Has designed each of the 2 4-story, 110,000 square foot buildings, located near Interstate 75 and Miramar Parkway to achieve Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) for New Construction: Silver level certification.

The U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC) gave Miramar Gold level certification for Liberty Center project.

Liberty Property Trust

Liberty Property Trust, who recently earned a USGBC Award for Corporate Leadership, has initiated the development of more than a dozen sustainable buildings, 10 of which have completed the LEED Certification process (totaling more than 1 million square feet). The other 11 projects (totaling more than 2.7 million) are either under construction (such as the 57-story Comcast Center in Philadelphia) or currently in certification review.

Lexus Training Facility

Lexus considers preventing global warming to be a priority management issue and is implementing measures to reduce carbon emissions by restricting energy consumption in all areas of business activities. The commitment is not limited to manufacturing, but encompasses all aspects of the life cycle of a product or process in which Lexus conducts business. Lexus will open a satellite training facility for Lexus technicians, located at the Miramar Park of Commerce, in July of this year. The Lexus Training Facility is seeking LEED for Commercial Interiors certification.
