Biography
Avril Cherasard is an immigrant from Nassau, Bahamas, who came to the United States at 16 years old on an academic scholarship to Florida Memorial University, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2001. After earning her Master’s degree in Public Administration from Nova Southeastern University, she began her career as a civil servant, working for the Florida Department of Health and the Social Security Administration, advocating for individuals and ensuring they were treated with dignity and respect.
