A 14-week after-school general music class; an introduction to future music instrument classes. Instruments provided. Class curriculum includes: Introduction to music/Music appreciation Meter/beat (clapping/conducting/moving to music) Rhythm (clapping rhythmic patterns) Notes (solfege) Pitches (singing) Ear training (identifying the notes) Listening/following (intro to singing short multi-part pieces) Review of musical styles/genres and specific instruments Instrument fittings (as per students' instrument preferences - strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion
