The 17-member, multi-ethnic company performs a forward-thinking repertoire that includes treasured classics, neoclassical works by George Balanchine and resident choreographer Robert Garland, as well as innovative contemporary works that use the language of ballet to celebrate African American culture. Through performances, community engagement and arts education, the Company carries forward Dance Theatre of Harlem’s message of empowerment through the arts for all.

Now entering its sixth decade, the renowned Dance Theatre of Harlem will offer a master class for all dance levels from beginner to professional.  The master class will include: 

A ballet warm up

Center work  

Across-the-floor movement

Dancing in the Street with Dance Theater of Harlem

Date: Friday, September 25, 2021

Time: 6:15 pm – 8:30 pm

FREE Community Event. All Ages.

A fun, active community engagement activity, Dancing in the Street is an open-air event.  DTH  delivers a brilliant mashup of ballet and classic social dancing for all ages!  Every skill level is invited to participate in the fun and personal expression of an old-style Soul Train line.  Starting with a warmup, DTOH’s company artists teach the vocabulary and sequence of a section of choreography.  Select participants will then perform LIVE with the company!

Maximum of 50 participants of all ages.

Afro-Beats Dance Class - 2 CLASSES!

Mondays and Wednesdays

This Fee covers all 12 Classes. 

Join us at MCC for Afro-Beat dance classes! Each class will comprise warm-up exercises, fully choreographed Afrobeat movements and cool down stretches.

Adult Ballet Dance Class - 2 CLASSES!

Tuesdays and Thursdays

6:15 – 7:15 pm OR 7:30 – 8:30 pm

Price:  $120 per participant. 

This Fee covers all 12 Classes. 

It's never too late to learn Ballet Basics! No matter your experience the purpose of this class is to provide training without the pressure of pursuing a career. You will clear your mind and feel a sense of calm. This class is for Adults 18 and over.

A Theater Arts program for Middle and high school students age 10 – 17 years that challenges students’ creativity and critical thinking skills culminating in a public performance. Sankofa, a word in the Twi language, is usually connected with going back and getting your history.  "The Colors" are a variation of people.  We have different shades of skin and culture and, regardless of race, participants will be able to connect with themselves and their history through the art of Acting.

Join Chef Randy as a Junior Chef for Kids Kitchen LIVE! Make fun DIY Treats along with our MCC Chef - Chef Randy! Participants will have one treat to eat and one to take home.

COVID-19 Safety is enforced. MASK REQUIRED FOR ENTRY. Limited to 8 kids per class. Children must be accompanied by 1 adult for up to 2 children.

Price: $20.00 per child, per class.

Join Chef Randy as a Junior Chef for MCC Chopped Jr.! Create meals from scratch using mystery ingredients. Tweens and Teens join up with MCC Chef Randy to make a meal from ingredients that kids have chosen. Kids will choose any one food item/ingredient at time of booking/reservation. Total of 8 kids will pick a total of 8 ingredients.

MCC Classics 4 kids with Palm Beach Symphony - POSTPONED

Participant Fee: $500 per child

A 14-week after-school general music class; an introduction to future music instrument classes. Instruments provided. This program is for School aged children age 10 - 14 years.

Class curriculum includes:

Introduction to music/Music appreciation

Meter/beat (clapping/conducting/moving to music)

Rhythm (clapping rhythmic patterns)

Notes (solfege)

Pitches (singing)

Ear training (identifying the notes)

Listening/following (intro to singing short multi-part pieces)

Review of musical styles/genres and specific instruments

Instrument fittings (as per students' instrument preferences - strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion)
