Phase III Project consists of construction of a gravity sewer collection system, pumping station, a force main and storm water drainage improvements in the area generally bounded by Pembroke Road to the north of SW 64 Avenue and to the east of SW 25 Street to the south, and the Turnpike to the west, within the public right-of-way. The Preliminary Design (PDR) effort will evaluate and identify system requirements required to efficiently design the wastewater collection/stormwater management system within the Phase III area. Project offers the means to eliminate out dated and non functioning septic tanks through a central wastewater collection system.
December 2018 -Wastewater – The contractor is currently installing sewer main along SW 20 ST between SW 68 Avenue and SW 66 Avenue. Contractor has skipped the sewer installation along 67 Ave, north of SW 24 ST due to conflict with an existing 16” water main at that location. Construction associated with sewer is +/- 35% to date.
· Storm Water - The contractor is currently installing storm drainage at the following location: SW 20 ST, between (SW 68 Ave and SW 67 Ave), SW 25 ST, between (SW 68 Ave and SW 67 Ave). Drainage lamping inspection was conducted along SW 68 Ave as contractor is working to install the remaining segment of valley gutters between 21st ST and Pembroke Rd. Couple of structures still remaining to be installed in that area due to conflict with existing water main, which will be removed once the newly installed main is placed in service. Storm drainage Construction to date is +/- 36%.
· Water – The installation of water main has been temporarily suspended as contractor is currently conducting hydrostatic and disinfecting tests. Bac-tee testing has been conducted on finished pipeline(s) for certification purposes. The City and County have agreed to rebuild the existing interconnect between the two distribution systems with a bi-meter assembly with a by-pass. The connection will be located at SW 68th Avenue and SW 25th Street on the north side of SW 25th Street. The City and County will share the costs for the new assembly. The City and the County will develop a joint agreement for maintenance, calibration, billing, etc. Construction of water is +/- 55%.
· NOTE – First lift of asphalt has been installed at the following locations:
o SW 68th Avenue from SW 25th Street to SW 21st Street
o SW 67th Lane from SW 67th Way to SW 20th Court
o SW 67th Way
o SW 20th Street, SW 20th Court and SW 23rd Street, (all three streets west of SW 68th Avenue)
November 2018 - Reynolds Construction completed the sewer installation on all the side streets located west of SW 68th Avenue, including SW 68th Avenue from Pembroke Road to SW 25th Street. Sewer installation has also been completed along SW 25th Street from SW 64th Avenue to SW 68th Avenue. The Contractor also completed the installation of sewer main along SW 67th Terrace. Sewer installation is currently in progress along SW 67th Avenue, north of SW 67th Terrace.
October 2018 - Reynolds Construction continued working with two sewer crews. One of the crews continued installing sewer along SW 67th Terrace. The second crew continued working on adjusting sewer laterals to grade on location where the sewer main has already been installed. Sewer installation is completed on all the side streets west of SW 68th Avenue, including SW 68th Avenue from SW 25th Street to Pembroke Road. Sewer installation is also completed along SW 25th Street from SW 64th Avenue to SW 68th Avenue.
