Miramar Cultural Center presents  Dreamgirls In Concert

Don't miss the smash hit Broadway musical, Dreamgirls starring American Idol finalist LaKisha Jones at the Miramar Cultural Center on July 22 at 8 PM and July 23 at 2 PM.

This Tony, Oscar and Grammy Award-winning classic follows the rise and fall of a 1960's girl group and the triumphs and tribulations that come with fame and fortune. Set in the Motown era that brought us such powerhouse voices as Aretha Franklin and Diana RossDreamgirls explodes from the stage with legendary songs including such hits as "One Night Only", "I Am Changing" and the act-one powerhouse ballad, "And I Am Telling You I'm Not Going."

This concert-style presentation features some of our area's rising talent joined onstage by LaKisha Jones as Effie, and Special Guest Stars Khalifa White as Deena, David LaMarr as James "Thunder" Early and Richard E. Waits as Curtis, from Broadway, Off Broadway, Regional Theatre and TV, performing partially with script in hand. Dreamgirls is led by Carbonell Award-winning Director/Choregrapher Ron Hutchins who seamlessly combines the complete cast with lighting, choreography and a live six-piece band led by Carbonell Award-winning Musical Director Caryl Fantel.
