CITY UPDATES - 9/14

We are working tirelessly to resume regular City operations and services. However, post storm-related assessments identify some public safety concerns. Thus, the City of Miramar will be CLOSED WEDNESDAY, September 13, 2017 through Friday, September 15, 2017 . As a result, all City Services and Parks and Recreation programs and activities will be SUSPENDED. City and Parks and Recreation services include but not limited to Early Childcare, Youth and Family, Senior Services, and Park facility usage.

This has resulted in NEW DATES for the following City Hearings:

City Commission Budget Hearing scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 5:01PM will be rescheduled to Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at 5:01 p.m.

2nd City Budget Hearing will proceed as scheduled on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 5:01 p.m.

City Commission meeting on Wednesday, September 27th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. will hold items rescheduled from the September 19th agenda.

City Commission meeting will remain at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 19, 2017. (containing items rescheduled from the September 6th Agenda)

Special Magistrate Hearing scheduled for Wednesday, September 13, 2017 has been cancelled. A new hearing date will be issued to those affected in the near future. CURFEW NOTIFICATION
The City of Miramar encountered severe wind, rain and other life threatening conditions during Hurricane Irma, resulting in damage throughout the city. There is no electrical power in many areas of the City and a curfew is necessary to protect public health, safety and welfare. A curfew is in affect between the hours of 12 midnight and 7:00AM September 12-14, 2017.

During the curfew, all pedestrian and vehicular movement is prohibited except for movements related to: fire and rescue services; police services, other emergency services; hospital services (including the necessary movement of medical patients or physicians responding to emergency medical calls), power or utility restoration and preparing emergency commodities for availability to the public.
