Rhythms in Conversation Percussion Workshop

FREE community interactive percussion workshop for students ages 11 and up.
No experience required!

Students will be immersed in a musical journey that includes ancient rhythms sprung from the souls of vibrant cultures and carried by hand and heart from Africa to the Caribbean and the Americas.  
Participants will learn percussion techniques that form the bedrock of contemporary music, in addition to learning history, geography, vocabulary, musical theory, ethnic studies and math associated with the rhythms taught.

Studio Artists Master Class in Classical Vocal Performance 
Presented by Florida Grand Opera 

Date: Sunday, November 19, 2017 • Time: 3 PM – 4:30 PM

Join Florida Grand Opera’s Master Teacher, Studio Artists, as well as guest singers from the community in a special FREE masterclass presentation.  From breath control to high notes, discover what it takes to be an opera singer.  This is your opportunity to understand how the human voice can transform notes on a page into a flesh and blood story. 
Want to make your FGO debut? This is your chance to work with a Master Teacher:  two singers from the community will be chosen to take part in this masterclass alongside the Florida Studio Artists.
